Externally Wired Miniature Heating Cartridge

Keyword: Externally Wired Miniature Heating Cartridge

Description

Aspect Description

Primary Material Sheath/Tubing: Typically stainless steel, such as SUS304, SUS316, 310S, etc., offering high-temperature and corrosion resistance. Heating Element: Nickel-chromium resistance wire. Insulation Filling: High-purity magnesium oxide powder. Leads: High-temperature resistant wires (can be directly drawn from the interior), nickel wires, or nickel-plated copper wires.

Common Dimensions Diameter: Very small, typically ranging from φ1.0mm ~ φ25mm to meet miniaturization needs. Length: The heating section length is flexible and can be customized according to requirements, e.g., from tens of millimeters to several meters. Leads: Lead length can also be customized, with standard options like 10 inches (approx. 254mm) or longer available.

Voltage & Power Operating Voltage: Wide range, commonly 12V, 24V, 100V, 220V, etc., supporting AC or DC. Rated Power: Broad power range, from tens of watts to over a thousand watts, e.g., 200W, 400W, 800W, etc. Note: Specific voltage and power depend on the model and application scenario, and are typically customizable.

Primary Applications Suitable for compact spaces requiring precise heating, such as: • Small mold heating • Analytical instruments, medical equipment • Plastic machinery (e.g., injection molding machine nozzle heating) • Semiconductor process equipment

Characteristics • Compact Structure: Extremely fine diameter, allowing installation in complex and confined spaces. • Good Flexibility: Some models are highly flexible and can be bent into required shapes (note the minimum bending radius). • High-Temperature Resistance: Wide allowable operating temperature range; some products can withstand temperatures up to 600°C. • High Mechanical Strength: Especially designs with internally drawn leads offer better vibration resistance, suitable for high-vibration environments.

🔧 Selection and Usage Considerations

When selecting and using miniature heating cartridges, please pay special attention to the following points:

· Regarding Lead Type: Besides conventional external wiring, there is an "internally drawn lead" design where high-temperature resistant wires are drawn directly from inside the heating cartridge. This structure eliminates external connection terminals, resulting in higher mechanical strength and better vibration resistance, making it very suitable for embedded mold heating or high-vibration environments.

· Power Density is Key: When selecting, pay attention to "power density" (i.e., power per unit surface area, measured in W/cm²). Excessively high power density will shorten the heater's lifespan. It is essential to select an appropriate power density based on the actual operating temperature and heat dissipation conditions.

· Essential Safety Precautions:

· The surface temperature of these heaters can be very high; necessary protective measures must be taken to prevent burns.

· When used near flammable materials, adequate insulation and fire prevention measures are mandatory.

· For scenarios involving long-term continuous operation, it is recommended to use a temperature controller to prevent overheating, which could damage equipment or cause hazards.
